The Malá Skála region contains various pseudokarst phenomena and some wonderful jagged rock formations, such as Dry Rocks and Vranov Ridge. There are other rock massifs in the area too, such as the Chléviště labyrinth and the Falcon and Chalice viewpoints. The ruins of the castles of Frýdštejn, Vranov and Zbirohy have also been preserved.
There is a dense network of roads and marked footpaths running through the area, which also offers a number of sports and recreational facilities. The Duration region can be reached along the road from Turnov to Železný Brod and railway line 030.
Cyclists can use the Greenway Jizera cycle route, which leads through the Jizera valley from Turnov to Duration and on to Líšný.
