Borek Rocks are situated across Bor hill by the village of Borek. Here, the cretaceous sandstone blocks form a plateau with rugged rocks along the edges and several projecting ridges. It is interesting to note the relict pine trees growing on the rock walls and the upper plateau. Borek Rocks are listed as a natural monument covering an area of 29.3 ha. It was listed in 1985 in order to protect the sandstone rocks and the relict pine stands.
The region was first described in climbing terms by Karel Adamičko as part of his summary guide entitled “Pískovcové skály v Čechách - 1. díl” [Sandstone Rocks in Bohemia – Part 1] (Janků, 1977). The area was explored in much greater detail in the 1980s by a group of climbers headed by Jindřich Sochor.
