Hynšta
Like the other castles on the slope of Mužský hill, we do not know the original name of Hynšta, and there is nothing about it in any of the written sources. Archaeological finds show that the castle existed in the 13th century.
The core of the castle was not large, but there was an extensive outer bailey by it, separated from the core by a ditch. The castle core comprised a single sandstone block with no sign of outer fortifications. The most distinctive feature to have survived is the little room carved into the rock, which was expanded to form a prayer room in the 17th century. It was used by the Czech Brethren, who took refuge here.
