It is said that the prettiest view of Trosky castle is from the Svatopluk Čech viewpoint in Borek rocks near Rovensko pod Troskami. You can get to the viewpoint by following the blue footpath markers from Borek pod Troskami. After walking up to the top of Bor (360 m a.s.l.), a gorgeous views opens up from one of the rock plateaus. The bench there is the only thing that disrupts the natural scenery. No railings, no unsightly boards, just pine trees, sand, and the rock walls below you.
The viewpoint is named after the writer Svatopluk Čech, who spent much of 1891 in Rovensko pod Troskami, in a rented room in the U České koruny inn. He used to enjoy wandering around the area, and was a frequent visitor to the Borek rocks. The people of Rovensko thought very highly of Svatopluk Čech and had a bust honouring him erected in the park in 1913; the viewpoint on Bor is also named after him.
