With its elevation of 723 metres, Děčínský Sněžník (in German: Hohe Schneeberg) is the highest butte (or table mountain) in the Czech Republic located approximately 7 kilometres to the west-northwest of the town of Děčín. On the top of the mountain, hikers can find one of the most beautiful lookout towers in the Czech Republic (726 mteres above sea level). The tower is 33 metres high and its 153 steps lead to an open platform with battlements from which there is a breathtaking 360-degree view. Originally, the tower served for geographical measurements. It ranks among the oldest lookout towers in the Czech Republic. At the foot of the tower, tourists can find a kiosk with refreshments and a mountain chalet. The mountain top is accessible from several directions along marked trails.
