Jedlová lookout tower stands on a distinctive phonolite hill, which rises to a height of 774 metres above sea level. It is now a recreational area with a lookout tower, a tourist chalet and a winter sports complex. From Jedlová there is a stunning view of the Lusatian Mountains, Bezděz, Milešovka, Bohemian Switzerland, Ještěd and Děčínský Sněžník, with the Ore Mountains in the background. An important European watershed leads up to the summit.
The stone lookout tower is 23 metres high and construction work began in 1890. At the end of the Second World War the lookout tower was in poor condition and gradually fell into disrepair. It was not reconstructed until 1992, and re-opened a year later. On the summit of the mountain there is a memorial to the poet Friedrich Schiller, at the base of which there are boulders made of minerals typical for the 19 surrounding towns and villages involved in the construction of the memorial in 1905.
You can get to the top of Jedlová following the green or red footpath markers from Jiřetín pod Jedlovou. The last stretch up to the peak is very steep.
There is an excellent restaurant by the lookout tower.
