Weifberg

The lookout tower on Weifberg (477.8 m a.s.l.) is a popular place for visitors to the back parts of Saxon Switzerland. It is made of wood with vertical steel columns. It was constructed in a mere five months and was opened on 2 November 2000. The tower is 36.9 metres high and 6.4 metres in diameter. It offers walkers a stunning view of the whole of Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland, the Lusatian Mountains and part of the Bohemian Central Mountains. What is particularly impressive is the view (facing west) towards the Elbe through the massifs of Falkenstein and Hoher Torstein, or towards the south across Hinter Hermsdorf to the Křinice valley.
