A classic climbing region in Broumovsko. While Saxon climbers scaled a number of dominant peaks in the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks between the two world wars, climbing did not fully develop here until 1944, with the credit going to climbers from Náchod and Police. Ostaš is divided up into three parts. The first two parts, the Upper and Lower Labyrinths, comprise towers and edge walls (over 260 climbing destinations with a thousand ascents); the other part is the bouldering area, with around 130 stones and 600 boulders described. You can find practically all types of climbing at Ostaš; the sandstone here is coarse-grained and firm in the great majority of the walls. The peregrine falcon has again been nesting here in recent years and so you should check out the current climbing restrictions beforehand.
